I am a psychotherapist in private practice in Cambridge, Mass., and also teach philosophy at Simmons University. I am the author of The Disabled Will and Options and Agency.
My current work revolves around understanding core topics in psychology – such as addiction, therapy, and mental health – from a broadly philosophical perspective.
My next book – The Minds We Want: A Theory of Mental Health – is forthcoming with Oxford University Press in September 2026 and is now available for pre-order.
This page provides information about my books, CV, academic research, teaching, interviews and talks, essays and journalism, podcast, and various other current projects.
